How Cardboard Deals works
01
We scan the marketplaces
We poll eBay UK and US all day for Magic listings — raw singles, graded slabs and sealed.
-
02
We identify the exact card
Each title is parsed to the precise printing and finish using Scryfall data; graded copies read for company and grade.
-
03
We build a market benchmark
A rolling price benchmark per card, kept separate for raw and graded, blending marketplace activity with reference sources.
-
04
We flag the deals
When an asking price sits well below the benchmark it becomes a deal — on the feed, its own page, Discord and the app.
Frequently asked questions
See all FAQs →- What is Cardboard Deals?
- Cardboard Deals is a live deal finder for Magic: The Gathering singles. We continuously scan eBay, identify each card, and flag listings priced below the going market rate so you can spot a good buy without watching the marketplace yourself.
- How do you decide something is a deal?
- For each card we build a market benchmark from recent sold and active prices, tracked separately for raw and graded copies. A listing is flagged when its asking price sits a meaningful percentage below that benchmark. The percentage below market is shown on every deal.
- Is it free?
- Yes — browsing the deals feed, card pages, price history and your collection is free on the website. Real-time alerts run through Discord (free) and the mobile app, which offers a paid tier for custom alert rules.
- Do you verify that listings are genuine?
- No. We surface eBay listings and our automated card matching is not perfect. Always check the seller's feedback and the card's price history before buying — counterfeits exist, and a price that looks too good can be a red flag rather than a bargain.

We don't verify authenticity and our AI card-matching isn't perfect. Always check the seller's feedback and the card's price history before buying — fakes exist.
