One Piece Card Game deals are now in our Discord
Published
Cardboard Deals started with Magic: The Gathering. Today a second game joins it: One Piece Card Game deals now post to our Discord server, around the clock and free.
Four new channels
- #op-uk: singles listed on eBay UK.
- #op-us: singles listed on eBay US.
- #op-sealed-uk: booster boxes, booster packs, starter decks and other sealed product on eBay UK.
- #op-sealed-us: the same on eBay US.
Each post shows the card or product, the asking price, how far below market it sits and the seller's own photo. It links to the deal's page, where you can check the details before you buy.
How we decide what counts as a deal
It is the same engine that runs the Magic channels, with a parser written for One Piece.
- We read the card code. One Piece cards carry codes like OP01-120 or EB02-010, and sellers put them in nearly every title. We match the code, then work out which printing the listing is: the base card, a parallel, a manga rare, an alternate art. When the title doesn't settle the printing, we skip the listing rather than guess, because the printings of one code can differ in price a hundredfold.
- The benchmark is TCGplayer's market price for that exact printing or sealed product, refreshed every day. A UK listing has to sit at least 25% below it and a US listing at least 20%. The UK bar is higher because the benchmark is a US price.
- Small stuff stays out. A single has to be worth at least £15 and a sealed product at least £25, and the saving has to be real money (£5 on a single, £8 on sealed), so the channels don't fill up with bulk commons at "50% off".
- Sealed means sealed. Empty boxes, opened product, cases, lots and fan-made "premium" boxes are filtered out.
- Japanese printings too, priced as Japanese. Japanese cards post to the same channels with a 🇯🇵 Japanese label. A Japanese copy usually sells for about half the English one, so we never price it against the English card: it is measured against Cardmarket's price for the Japanese printing and has to sit at least 30% below it. Chinese cards are left out.
- Auctions post in their final 24 hours at the current bid, so the price can still rise before they end. Buy It Now listings post at their asking price.
Only collect one of the two games?
Mute the channels you don't need: right-click (or long-press on a phone) a channel and choose Mute Channel. You will only hear about the game you care about.
What comes next
The Discord channels are the first step. One Piece is coming to the website and the Cardboard Deals app very soon: card and set pages with price history, the live deal feed in the app, One Piece cards in your collection, and custom deal rules (part of Premium) that alert you the moment a match lists. If you already have the app, One Piece arrives in an update. We'll post here when it lands.
The usual small print
Deal links go to eBay through our affiliate links, which is what keeps the channels free. We find listings but we don't check them in person, so look at the seller's feedback and the photos before you buy, and buy carefully. One Piece Card Game is a trademark of Bandai; Cardboard Deals is not affiliated with or endorsed by Bandai.
Join the Discord, and if you spot a deal we got wrong, tell us in the server and we'll look into it.
